DES MOINES, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Officials from Life Time – The Healthy Way of Life Companysm (NYSE:LTM) today announced the opening of a Preview Center for its much-anticipated Des Moines destination, expected for completion during the summer 2014. Life Time Athletic Des Moines will be located at 11911 Hickman Road in Urbandale and marks the Company’s first Life Time destination in Iowa. The Preview Center, located at the same address, will open to the public seven days a week beginning February 1 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and offer a comprehensive sneak preview of the new resort-like destination and its amenities. Exclusive membership opportunities also will be available for a limited time.
The two-story, 166,000-square-foot total lifestyle center will offer residents of the greater Des Moines area a health and fitness experience unlike any other in Iowa. Life Time Athletic Des Moines will offer best-in-class instructors and programs in beautifully appointed group fitness, cycle, Pilates and yoga studios, while also offering the finest, most up-to-date cardiovascular and resistance machines available anywhere. Certified personal trainers and nutrition coaches will serve members with personalized assessments, and fitness and nutrition programs designed to help them achieve and maintain their total health objectives. Life Time Athletic Des Moines also will feature a resort-like indoor and outdoor aquatic center, complete with lap pools, whirlpools and splash pads, as well as an indoor tennis center with eight climate controlled courts. Tennis programming, lessons and leagues will be available for all skill levels.
Life Time Kids Academy, a new and unique membership program designed especially for kids from three months to 11 years, will provide a full spectrum of enriching and engaging activities focused on Mind and Body, Arts and Culture, Fitness and Agility, and Life Skills. More than 60 classes are offered weekly.
In addition, LifeSpa, a full-service, lavish day spa offering the latest in massage and relaxation therapy, and a comprehensive range of body, hair, nail and skin care services is inside Life Time Athletic Des Moines and will be open to both members and non-members.
